My name is Brigitte. I was born in the Netherlands. My path carried me across many different countries, where I lived and worked as an anthropologist. These years abroad opened doors to countless cultures, each leaving its imprint on my soul. It was in China that I first discovered the gateway to painting.

My inspiration comes from nature and its organic shapes, echoes of landscapes stored in my memory. The naïve and abstract elements in my work carry the subtle breath of Asia, while Latin America and the Caribbean awakened in me a love for vivid, joyful colors.

 

I let my imagination wander freely across the canvas using colors merging in unexpected ways that summon a dream-like realm. Through an intuitive process, I shape my ongoing search for harmony in a volatile world.

My wish is to invite the viewer into a quiet journey towards a serene dream world. When the stillness of that world can be conveyed, my purpose has been fulfilled.
